Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

- Remembered this poem by Robert Frost. Posting this on a snowy day in Dallas!! :-)

Hosanna....

When I first heard this song, my initial reaction was wow what a song. Its a different try by Rahman. This is a feel good song, you can just keep walking all the way hearing this.

The song is different from the normal tracks because it does not have the normal stuffs like the other tamil songs. I do not want to give any more build up. Here you go, listen for yourself.

On a super Sunday...

Feb 7th 2010, it was a Sunday. A much awaited one. More so, because of the fact that I was pretty occupied on Saturday, Thanks to the stupid ticket I got for not yielding to a cop car when driving on a highway.

I got up around 8 am in the morning to see the London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea. Apparently the match was at 10 am, I was 2 hours early for the match.Morning was one of the calmest I ever had in the recent past. I did not feel cranky, as i had a good night sleep. Since i was up early, i thought of taking a walk to the near by Bagel shop to get myself a nice breakfast and a hot coffee. Bagel and coffee on a Sunday morning was surprisingly refreshing.

There was time left for the game to start, so i called my mom and had a nice talk with her. We were discussing the usual stuff, to be honest, these days we talk a lot about me getting married :-). When I was done talking to my mom, the clock hit 9 55 am. I was getting ready to see a soccer match, which i expected to be a cracker of a game. After Liverpool, Arsenal is the team I support. I really like some of the young players out there. I wanted Arsenal to win this game. But Drogba and Cech had other thoughts. For the second time this season, Drogba scored a brace against the Gunners. Apart from Fabregas and to some extent Nasri, others in the Arsenal team were less than ordinary. It was again a "Reality bite" for Arsene Wenger's men or rather boys. Arsenal did not have a clue on what to do against Drogba. Whats more apalling about this Arsenal performance was, they did the same mistake again, again and again.

I was pretty disappointed to see Arsenal lose. But Chelsea deserved their win and they will be on top again. More importantly ahead of Manchester united. As a staunch Liverpool fan, I would hate to see Manchester united taking the title this season. More so, because, if they win it, they will knock us off from the top in winning the most league titles table.

As the match ended, I did not have anything to do, so i decided to take a nap. I got up around 1 30, took my bath and did my zuhr salah around 1 45 pm and was getting ready for the super bowl. A showdown between the 2 best teams from their respective conferences. Super bowl 44 was contested between the American Football Conference(AFC) champions Indianapolis Colts and the National Football Conference champions New Orleans Saints. Most of my friends, work mates, the media etc. were gunning for colts to win the super bowl. They were tagged favorites for this tie. Since I have this tendency to support an under dog, I was supporting the Saints.

So me and my friend decided to see the super bowl at a sports pub nearby. The game was broad casted live in a huge screen. Since Saints were from NFC, the conference to which Dallas Cowboys belong to, people in Dallas supported the Saints. So we had a huge bunch of people cheering for saints. To our delight Saints stunned the Colts with a fantastic performance on the field. The much hyped Colts team and their quarter back Peyton Manning was humbled by some terrific defending, amazing tactics and the MVP of SB 44 Drew Brees, the quarter back of Saints. The return touch down by Porter off Manning was the highlight of the game. I was happy to see Saints win and I can now brag about Saints with all those who said "Colts will thrash Saints".After the game I had to run back to my apartment, thanks to the rain. I thoroughly enjoyed my first super bowl and so did the Saints, who won the super bowl on their first appearance.

After I came home, I saw a tamil movie "Kutti", which i thought was a good time pass. Overall a Sunday started refreshingly, Arsenal disappointed , Saints and Kutty did not. Looking forward to the week after a nice Sunday.

Change..

As we all know the cliched phrase "Change is something that does not change", I think i am getting in terms with the phrase. Two years back my reaction time to change was alarmingly high and I took a lot of time in getting in terms with the change. Two years down the line, am open to any change that life brings for me. I now crave for change, to break the monotony of life.

Few years back, i read a line from my friend KB's orkut page, which said "If you are open to change, you never look back". I realized that and I have changed myself to accept changes.

For instance, I was working on one messed up project for sometime, though the project was messed up, I loved working on it and face the challenges it gave to me. I even mastered the project,I was always under control and was performing well, if someone had asked me to leave the current project(in which I was doing good) and move to something that was coming new, I was reluctant to move or join a new project. Mostly because of fear of failure and also because of my non-openness to change.

Now at this juncture, I truly realize how important change is. Everyone needs a change, otherwise life will be boring. Remember, life is short, we need to try everything that comes our way. Though it might be a bad experience, there will always be something positive coming out of it. Like the phrase in the movie 3 idiots,"All is well".

Remember, Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, but rather to skid in sideways, memories on one hand and chocolate on the other, thoroughly & totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO' what a ride!
